We've decided it's about time you get to know a little more about us - the people behind Plecto. You may have seen our faces on our 'meet the team' page or spoken to one of us during a demo or whilst getting some support, but we want you to know a few more details.
Welcome to another edition of 'Team Spotlight', a series where we invite each member of the Plecto team to share a little bit about themselves.
We have already heard from Rikke, Ales and Nikola. Check them out by clicking on their names.
Our fourth guest is Grace Cook, our Marketing Intern and Sales Development Representative!
How long have you worked at Plecto and what do you do?
I started as a Marketing Intern in January and I have also recently started working in the sales team in the evenings as a Sales Development Representative.Â
As a marketing intern, I help out with researching and writing blog posts, coming up with campaign ideas, designing promotional material and annoying Daniel, our VP Marketing.Â
As a Sales Development Representative, I speak to our Plecto sign-ups from North and South America; I stay late in the evenings so the calls fit with their time zones.Â
Where are you from?
I’m from a small city 25 miles (40km for you modern Europeans) outside of London, England called St. Albans.
How did you end up in Denmark & working at Plecto?
I finished my Bachelor's degree in Sociology at the University of Nottingham in the UK (with a semester at the University of South Florida in Tampa, USA) in August 2016.Â
I wasn't really sure what I wanted to do yet, and at 21, I felt like I still wanted to have a bit of an adventure. I decided to move to Denmark!Â
I began studying towards a qualification in marketing at Business Academy Aarhus as I always knew I wanted to work in marketing, so to get an academic background in it seemed like a good idea.Â
One of the requirements of the marketing course is to do an internship. During my search, I found Plecto, applied and luckily got the job!
What do you miss about England?
Definitely my friends and family.
I also miss English culture and our sense of humour. If you asked me what English culture and humour is, I wouldn’t really be able to describe it - it’s just something you know if you’re from there!
I also really miss English food.Â
Although we don’t have an exactly exotic cuisine, we definitely have some good dishes. Fish and chips, full English breakfast, steak and ale pie, bangers and mash, the list goes on.Â
Oh and a proper Indian takeaway.Â
What kind of jobs have you had before joining Plecto?
My first job was working in the coffee shop of a garden centre in my hometown.
I have also worked in marketing in England and also here in Denmark at a fashion company.Â
What’s your dream holiday destination?
There are so many places I want to go.
My dream destination has always been Bora Bora or the Maldives, but I also would like to go to northern Norway or Iceland to see the Northern Lights, Japan, Jamaica, Portland, Toronto, so many places! Â
What’s your favourite TV series?
I have a bad habit where I start TV series and never finish them. The only two series I’ve ever finished are Gossip Girl and Friends!Â
I also really like Black Mirror, Parks and Recreation, The Affair, Top Boy, Modern Family, Keeping up with the Kardashians, and lots more.Â
Nothing to Declare, Cops, Border Patrol and shows like that are my guilty pleasure.Â
What’s the last film you watched?
The Greatest Showman, so good.Â
What’s your favourite cocktail?
Either Espresso Martini or Porn Star Martini, for sure
